The Late Show with Craig Ferguson does it again!

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson featured the new up-and-coming Atlanta Christian rock group called Family Force 5 on his show recently. By the looks of it, they really tore it up...no....really...THEY TORE IT UP! Watch the video all the way through. I am looking forward to seeing these guys play at Cornerstone this year (if I get to see them). They are not your typical southern rock sound, in fact they stand in the face of it with their new album entitled "Business up front...Party in the back" (you all know what they're talking about, right). I suggest you go to their MySpace site and check out the music video for Kountry Gentleman (also featured on Jesus Rock 101.7fm). The video calls out to all those Dukes Of Hazzard fans. If you listen closely, you can hear a verse about collard greens as well. Anyway, hope you all enjoy them as much as I did.

Stay tuned for a post about new developments in my yard.

Well it's not what it used to be...

.... Click map to see the unbridled truth. If you must know, this week is supposed to be, on the average, the coldest week of the winter. This does not mean cold weather is over. Just understand, the weather is just not the way it was back in the olden days. The warm weather is not a problem in my opinion but it is very strange to say the least. I almost feel like I could sneak out to camp. Put up a nice wind block, build a nice fire, run a little heat in the camper.
.... I must say, this January 19th shindig we have planned for a game night is just exciting to see it come together. We....well I am at the edge of the seat looking forward to it. CSI-Menomonie...
.... Momentary interruption...I just saw Office Depots response commercial to Staples' "easy button". It is centered around a small cardboard box with a fake hand that pops out. The slogan says something like, "When you need a helping hand". Very, very sad. Almost a bit morbid.
New bands to check out:
.... Here are a few bands I have discovered recently for the radio.
AGENTS OF FUTURE - a group consisting of about 15 people who vary in age from 20 to 50. intriguing sound!
FAMILY FORCE 5 - a hillbilly rap rock party. Look them up on MySpace and watch video of "Kountry Gentleman"
SEVENTH SEAL - a tight, chunky metal band with a cool sound.
AEROFLOP - "pot smoking" music for Christians
.... More to come, but that's all for today. Each band has a MySpace. Check them out!

Found It...Posted It!

Behave.....wait...
...Bee Hive!

This photo is the inside of a 1955 Chevrolet that has been renovated by an impending militia of Yellow Jackets.

Becky and I (at about 11:00pm) while on our way to vacation in Bayfield last summer were listening to Public Radio and getting totally freaked out (end is near...) due to a story they were doing on the recent Yellow Jacket population surge. Normal nest sizes are roughly the size of a basketball or smaller. Apparently this evil is happening all over the south because of warmer winter temperatures. No freezy...no wasp killy. This picture is the main story they were covering. The second one was about a queen-sized mattress that had a 3-4 inch hole in it from mice, they assume. The entire inside was a Yellow Jacket nest. In both of these stories, residents claimed being able to hear the buzzing sound several yards away from the nest. With the Chevy, they heard the sound before realizing where it was coming from.

When you see crap like this, you can easily picture how pestilence outbreaks can occur as depicted in the Bible. A couple of warm winters and all of a sudden Yellow Jackets are kicking your butt. As a side note, I find it interesting that the Yellow Jackets haven't moved to warmer climates. Why live in a region that restricts your nest sizes to a basketball or smaller when you have thousands of El Caminos to fill where it's a whole lot warmer? Isn't that anti-evolutionary?
